Scientific consensus:

AI is extremely intelligent. AI shows no verified evidence of sentience. AI has no demonstrated internal experience. AI optimizes mathematically. AI does not feel.

However:

The philosophical question remains open. The scientific tools are improving. The ethical debate is accelerating.
