तर्क . दशुरा द्वारा वशिष्ठ का स्वागत , उनकी बातचीत और विदा।

वसिष्ठ ने कहा :—

1. [श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।

इत्याकर्ण्य तदा तत्र रात्रावालपनं द्वयोः ।

अहं रघुकुलाकाशशशाङ्क रघुनन्दन ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |

ityākarṇya tadā tatra rātrāvālapanaṃ dvayoḥ |ahaṃ raghukulākāśaśaśāṅka raghunandana || 1 ||

Vasishtha said:—Hear me, Rama, that art the delight of Raghu's race, and shinest as the moon in the firmament of Raghu's family; that after I heard the conversation that was going on between Dasura and his son:—

 हे राम , तुम रघुवंश के आनन्द के पात्र हो और रघुवंश के आकाश में चन्द्रमा के समान प्रकाशित हो; जब मैंने दशुरा और उसके पुत्र के बीच हो रही बातचीत सुनी, तब मैंने कहा:—

2. [ पतितः खात्कदम्बाग्रे पत्रपुष्पफलाकुले ।

तूष्णीं निर्वृष्टमुक्तात्मा शृङ्गाग्र इव तोयदः ॥ २ ॥

patitaḥ khātkadambāgre patrapuṣpaphalākule |tūṣṇīṃ nirvṛṣṭamuktātmā śṛṅgāgra iva toyadaḥ || 2 ||

I alighted from the sky on the top of the Kadamba tree, which was decorated with its verdant leaves, and beautiful fruits and flowers; and then with my spiritual body, I sat myself slowly and silently on the top of the tree, as a light cloud alights on the summit of a mountain. ]

मैं आकाश से कदम्ब वृक्ष के शिखर पर उतरा, जो अपने हरे पत्तों, सुन्दर फलों और फूलों से सुशोभित था; और फिर मैं अपने आध्यात्मिक शरीर के साथ वृक्ष के शिखर पर धीरे-धीरे और चुपचाप बैठ गया, जैसे एक हल्का बादल किसी पर्वत की चोटी पर उतरता है।

3. [ अपश्यं तत्र दाशूरं शूरमिन्द्रियनिग्रहे ।

परेण तपसा युक्तं तेजसेव हुताशनम् ॥ ३ ॥

apaśyaṃ tatra dāśūraṃ śūramindriyanigrahe |pareṇa tapasā yuktaṃ tejaseva hutāśanam || 3 ||

I beheld Dasura there, sitting as a giant by subduing the organs of his body, and shining with the lustre of his devotion, as the fire blazing with its flame. ]

मैंने वहाँ दशुरा को देखा, जो अपने शरीर के अंगों को वश में करके विशालकाय रूप में बैठा हुआ था, और अपनी भक्ति की चमक से चमक रहा था, जैसे अग्नि अपनी ज्वाला से प्रज्वलित होती है।

4. [ तेजोभिर्देहनिष्क्रान्तैः काञ्चनीकृतभूतलम् ।

तापयन्तं प्रदेशं तं भुवनं भास्करो यथा ॥ ४ ॥

tejobhirdehaniṣkrāntaiḥ kāñcanīkṛtabhūtalam |tāpayantaṃ pradeśaṃ taṃ bhuvanaṃ bhāskaro yathā || 4 ||

The lustre issuing from his body, had strewn his seat with purple gold, and lighted that spot, as the sun-beams emblazon the world. ]

उनके शरीर से निकलने वाली चमक ने उनके आसन को बैंगनी सोने से चमकाया था, और उस स्थान को प्रकाशित किया था, जैसे सूर्य की किरणें दुनिया को प्रकाशित करती हैं।

5. [ ततः पूर्वकथास्तेन सह दाशूर भास्वता ।

कृतास्तनयसंबोधाः संसारोत्तरणक्षमाः ॥ ५ ॥

tataḥ pūrvakathāstena saha dāśūra bhāsvatā |kṛtāstanayasaṃbodhāḥ saṃsārottaraṇakṣamāḥ || 5 ||

Seeing me presenting myself before him, Dasura spread a leafy seat for me to sit down, and then honoured me according to the rules of ceremonial law. ]

मुझे अपने समक्ष उपस्थित देखकर दशुरा ने मेरे बैठने के लिए एक पत्तेदार आसन बिछाया और फिर विधि-विधान के अनुसार मेरा सत्कार किया।

6. ततः पूर्वकथास्तेन सह दाशूर भास्वता ।

कृतास्तनयसंबोधाः संसारोत्तरणक्षमाः ॥ 6 ॥

tataḥ pūrvakathāstena saha dāśūra bhāsvatā | kṛtāstanayasaṃbodhāḥ saṃsārottaraṇakṣamāḥ || 6 ||

Then the previous story with him, Dashur, was bright. They were enlightened as sons and were able to save the world. 6 ॥

 फिर मैं तेजस्वी दशुरा के साथ उनके प्रवचन में शामिल हुआ, जो उनके पुत्र के उत्थान और मानवजाति को जीवन के दुखों से मुक्ति दिलाने के लिए था।

7. [ दृष्टवांस्तमहं वृक्षं कोरकोत्तरकोटरम् ।

दाशूरस्येच्छया सर्वैरयतद्भिर्मृगव्रजैः ॥ ७ ॥

dṛṣṭavāṃstamahaṃ vṛkṣaṃ korakottarakoṭaram |dāśūrasyecchayā sarvairayatadbhirmṛgavrajaiḥ || 7 ||

I then with permission of Dasura, looked into the hollow of the tree, and the herds of stags pasturing fearlessly about it, and grazing and gathering about it.

तब मैंने दशुरा की अनुमति से वृक्ष के खोखले भाग में देखा, और देखा कि हिरणों के झुंड निर्भय होकर उसके चारों ओर चर रहे थे, चर रहे थे और उसके चारों ओर इकट्ठा हो रहे थे।

8. [ सेव्यमानं वनमिव लतामण्डलमण्डितम् ।

स्मितेन विस्फुटमिव श्वसनस्फुरितच्छदम् ॥ ८ ॥

sevyamānaṃ vanamiva latāmaṇḍalamaṇḍitam |
smitena visphuṭamiva śvasanasphuritacchadam || 8 ||

It was as delightful as a bower overhung with creepers, where the smiling flowers were shedding their light, and breathing their fragrance to the winds.

यह लताओं से लटके हुए कुंज के समान मनोहर था, जहाँ मुस्कुराते हुए फूल अपना प्रकाश बिखेर रहे थे, और अपनी सुगंध हवाओं में फैला रहे थे।

9. [लताकोटिगतैर्भ्रान्तैश्चामरैरिन्दुसुन्दरैः ।

शुभ्राभ्रखण्डनिकरैः शरन्नभ इवावृतम् ॥ ९ ॥

latākoṭigatairbhrāntaiścāmarairindusundaraiḥ |śubhrābhrakhaṇḍanikaraiḥ śarannabha ivāvṛtam || 9 ||

The chowry deer flapped their long hairy and moon-bright tails, against the herbaceous arbour, as the white flimsy clouds sweep over the sky. ]

चौरी हिरण अपनी लंबी बालों वाली और चाँदनी की तरह चमकती पूंछों को घास के कुंज के सामने फड़फड़ा रहे थे, जैसे सफेद पतले बादल आकाश पर छा रहे हों।

10. [ प्रालेयकणपद्धत्या मुक्तावल्याभ्यलंकृतम् ।

सर्वावयवमेवाच्छपुष्पपूरैः प्रपूरितम् ॥ १० ॥

prāleyakaṇapaddhatyā muktāvalyābhyalaṃkṛtam |

sarvāvayavamevācchapuṣpapūraiḥ prapūritam || 10 ||

The tree was adorned with fringes of pearly dewdrops, and arrayed all over with the flowery garb of his blossoms. ]

वृक्ष मोती जैसी ओस की बूंदों की झालरों से सुशोभित था, तथा उसके फूलों की पुष्पमयी आभूषा से सर्वत्र सुसज्जित था।

पुष्परजसा आवृतं चन्दनपिष्टेन अभिषिक्तमिव; तस्य स्फुटितवल्कलं तु गुलाबीरक्तं चित्रयति स्म ।

pusparajasa aavrutam chandanapishten abhishiktamiv; tasya sphutitavalkalam tu gulabiraktam chitrayati sm .

Covered with the dust of its flowers, it seemed anointed with sandalwood paste; while its flaking bark painted it a rosy red.

11. अपने फूलों की धूल से लिपटा हुआ, यह चंदन के लेप से अभिषिक्त प्रतीत होता था; जबकि इसकी उफनती छाल इसे गुलाबी लाल रंग से ढक रही थी।

12. [ विवाहायेव वेषेण पुष्पभारातिभारिणा ।

लताङ्गनानुषक्तेन नागरेण कृतोपमम् ॥ १२ ॥

vivāhāyeva veṣeṇa puṣpabhārātibhāriṇā |latāṅganānuṣaktena nāgareṇa kṛtopamam || 12 ||

Decorated with flowers, the tree seemed to stand in its bridal attire; and resembled the bridegroom in mutual embrace with the twining brides.  ]

फूलों से सजा हुआ वह वृक्ष दुल्हन के वेश में खड़ा हुआ प्रतीत हो रहा था; और ऐसा लग रहा था मानो दूल्हा आपस में लिपटी हुई दुल्हनों के साथ आलिंगन कर रहा हो।

13. [ मुनिबद्धोटजाकारलतामण्डपमण्डितम् ।

मञ्जरीभिः पताकाभिर्युक्तं पुरमहोत्सवे ॥ १३ ॥

munibaddhoṭajākāralatāmaṇḍapamaṇḍitam |mañjarībhiḥ patākābhiryuktaṃ puramahotsave || 13 ||

The bowers of shrubberies all around, resembled the leafy huts of hermits, which with their overtopping blossoms, seemed as a city, flaring with flying flags (or banners) in festivity. ]

चारों ओर झाड़ियों के कुंज, साधुओं की पत्तों से भरी झोपड़ियों के समान थे, जो अपने ऊपर लगे फूलों के साथ, उत्सव में लहराती झंडियों (या पताकाओं) से जगमगाते हुए एक शहर के समान प्रतीत होते थे।

14. [ मृगकण्डूयनध्वस्तपुष्पधूलिविधूसरम् ।

प्रोत्सारितोपान्तवनं वृषमल्लमिवोत्थितम् ॥ १४ ॥

mṛgakaṇḍūyanadhvastapuṣpadhūlividhūsaram |protsāritopāntavanaṃ vṛṣamallamivotthitam || 14 ||

Shaken by the stages in the act of rubbing their bodies, the trees darted their flowers in abundance upon the ground;and the border-lands were as shattered, as if they were broken by the horns of fighting bulls. ]

अपने शरीर को रगड़ने की क्रिया से हिलकर, वृक्षों ने अपने फूलों को बहुतायत से जमीन पर गिरा दिया; और सीमांत भूमि इस तरह बिखर गई, मानो वे लड़ते हुए बैलों के सींगों से टूट गए हों।

15. समीपस्थस्य पर्वतशिखरस्य उपरि मयूराः उड्डीयन्ते स्म, तस्य उपरि सायं मेघाः प्लवन्ति इव दृश्यन्ते स्म ।

samipasthasya parvatashikharasya upari mayurah udeeyante sm, tasya upari sayam meghah plavanti iv drshyante sm .

Peacocks, dusted with flowers, flew over the top of a nearby hill, appearing as if evening clouds were floating over it.

फूलों की धूल से सने मोर, पास की पहाड़ी की चोटी पर उड़ते हुए, ऐसे प्रतीत हो रहे थे जैसे शाम के बादल उस पर तैर रहे हों।

16. [ प्रवालारुणहस्तेन कुसुमस्मितशोभिना ।

मधुना घूर्णमानेन प्रान्तेन पुलकत्विषा ॥ १६ ॥

pravālāruṇahastena kusumasmitaśobhinā |madhunā ghūrṇamānena prāntena pulakatviṣā || 16 ||

Here the goddess Flora seemed to be sporting in the lawns, with the roseate flowers in her hands, and smiling sweetly in the blooming blossoms; she revelled with the nectarine honey of flowers; and shed her beauty on all sides.]

यहाँ देवी फ्लोरा अपने हाथों में गुलाबी फूल लिए हुए लॉन में खेल रही थी, और खिलते हुए फूलों में मधुर मुस्कान बिखेर रही थी; वह फूलों के अमृतमय शहद से आनंदित हो रही थी; और अपनी सुंदरता को सभी ओर बिखेर रही थी।

17. [ नीरन्ध्रपुष्पपूर्णेन घूर्णितेन वनानिलैः ।

निद्रालुकुड्मलदृशा स्तबकस्तनधारिणा ॥ १७ ॥

nīrandhrapuṣpapūrṇena ghūrṇitena vanānilaiḥ |nidrālukuḍmaladṛśā stabakastanadhāriṇā || 17 ||

The closing buds resembling her eyelids, were lulled to sleep by the forest breeze, breathing incessantly with the fragrance of the flowers. The clusters of flowers forming her breasts, were hid under the bodice of leaves. ]

उसकी पलकों के समान खिलती हुई कलियाँ, वन-समीर से, फूलों की सुगंध से निरंतर साँस लेते हुए, सुला रही थीं। उसके वक्षस्थल बने फूलों के गुच्छे, पत्तों की चोली के नीचे छिपे हुए थे।

18. [ पुष्पजालरजःपुञ्जकुङ्कुमारुणवाससा ।

लताविताननिलयवातायननिषङ्गिणा ॥ १८ ॥

puṣpajālarajaḥpuñjakuṅkumāruṇavāsasā |latāvitānanilayavātāyananiṣaṅgiṇā || 18 ||

She sat at the window of her alcove, formed by the twining plants and creepers, and was dressed in the purple garb of the flying farina of flowers. ]

वह अपने आले की खिड़की पर बैठी थी, जो लिपटे हुए पौधों और लताओं से बनी थी, और उसने उड़ते हुए फूलों के परी के समान बैंगनी वस्त्र पहने हुए थे।

19. [ नीलपुष्पलतादोलालीलालास्यविलासिना ।

आपादमस्तकप्रान्तं सर्वतो निर्मितालयम् ॥ १९ ॥

nīlapuṣpalatādolālīlālāsyavilāsinā |

āpādamastakaprāntaṃ sarvato nirmitālayam || 19 ||

She swang in her swinging cradle of bluish blossoms, and was adorned with various floral ornaments from her head to foot. ]

वह नीले फूलों के झूलते हुए पालने में झूल रही थी, और उसके सिर से पैर तक विभिन्न पुष्प आभूषणों से सजाया गया था।

20. [ वृन्देन वनदेवीनां कोकिलालापशालिना ।

संदिग्धमञ्जरीजालमलिनेत्रेण भासिना ॥ २० ॥

vṛndena vanadevīnāṃ kokilālāpaśālinā |saṃdigdhamañjarījālamalinetreṇa bhāsinā || 20 ||

She moved about the flowers in the garb of the sylvan goddess and looking with her cerulean eyes of fluttering blue-bees on all sides; and sang to them in the sweet notes of the black kokila in the arbours. ]

वह वनदेवी का वेश धारण करके फूलों के बीच घूमती थी और अपनी नीली आँखों से चारों ओर फड़फड़ाती हुई नील-मधुमक्खियों को देखती थी; और कुंजों में बैठी काली कोकिला की मधुर वाणी में उनके लिए गाती थी।

21. [ अवश्यायोपशमितरतिखेदैर्मदालसैः ।

पुष्पधूलिसमालब्धैराश्लिष्टैर्निबिडं मिथः ॥ २१ ॥

avaśyāyopaśamitaratikhedairmadālasaiḥ |puṣpadhūlisamālabdhairāśliṣṭairnibiḍaṃ mithaḥ || 21 ||

The bees tired with their labour of love, refreshed themselves with sipping the dew-drops trickling on the tops of the flowers, and then making their repast on the farinaceous meal, slept together with their mates, in the cells of the flower cups. ]

मधुमक्खियां अपने प्रेम के श्रम से थककर, फूलों के शीर्ष पर टपकती ओस की बूंदों को पीकर खुद को तरोताजा करती थीं, और फिर आटे के भोजन पर अपना भोजन करने के बाद, फूलों के कपों की कोशिकाओं में अपने साथियों के साथ सो जाती थीं।

22. [ पुष्पान्तरान्तःपुरगैः किमपि प्रणयोचितम् ।

ध्वनद्भिरभितः स्वच्छमत्तालियुगलैर्वृतम् ॥ २२ ॥

puṣpāntarāntaḥpuragaiḥ kimapi praṇayocitam |dhvanadbhirabhitaḥ svacchamattāliyugalairvṛtam || 22 ||

The couples of bees dwelling in the cells of flowers, and giddy with sipping the honey of the flower cups; were humming their love tunes to one another. ]

फूलों की कोठरियों में रहने वाले और फूलों के प्यालों से मधु पीकर मदमस्त मधुमक्खियों के जोड़े एक दूसरे से प्रेमगीत गुनगुना रहे थे।

23. [ काननोपान्तनगरीघुंघुमाकर्णनेच्छया ।

क्षणमुत्कर्णमाशान्तचारुवर्वणटांकृतैः ॥ २३ ॥

kānanopāntanagarīghuṃghumākarṇanecchayā |

kṣaṇamutkarṇamāśāntacāruvarvaṇaṭāṃkṛtaiḥ || 23 ||

The sage remained attentive for a moment to the murmur, proceeding from the village beyond the forest; and now he listened with pricked up ears, to the busy buzz of blue-bees and flies at a distance. ]

ऋषि क्षण भर के लिए जंगल के उस पार के गांव से आती हुई बड़बड़ाहट पर ध्यान देते रहे; और अब वे कान खड़े करके दूर से नीलकंठों और मक्खियों की व्यस्त भिनभिनाहट को सुनने लगे।

24. [ क्षणं दलाग्रविश्रान्तमुग्धमुग्धशिरस्तया ।

पश्यद्भिरिन्द्वंशुकवज्जालामर्णवमेखलाम् ॥ २४ ॥

kṣaṇaṃ dalāgraviśrāntamugdhamugdhaśirastayā |paśyadbhirindvaṃśukavajjālāmarṇavamekhalām || 24 ||

The sages then beheld with their down cast looks on moon-beams, which were spread like a sheet of fine linen on the blades of grass upon the ground below. ]

तब ऋषियों ने नीची दृष्टि से चन्द्रमा की किरणों को देखा, जो नीचे भूमि पर घास के पत्तों पर उत्तम मलमल की चादर के समान फैली हुई थीं।

25. [ वनस्थलीनां तनयैर्नयैमूर्तिमिवास्थितैः ।

शुभैः पत्रपुटेष्वन्तर्मृगैः सारतलान्तरम् ॥ २५ ॥

vanasthalīnāṃ tanayairnayaimūrtimivāsthitaiḥ |

śubhaiḥ patrapuṭeṣvantarmṛgaiḥ sāratalāntaram || 25 ||

They beheld the beautiful antelopes, which slept in their leafy beds on the ground, below the stretching boughs of shady trees, as if they were the progeny of their native forest. ]

उन्होंने सुन्दर मृगों को देखा, जो छायादार वृक्षों की फैली हुई शाखाओं के नीचे, भूमि पर अपने पत्तों से भरे बिस्तरों में सो रहे थे, मानो वे उनके मूल वन की संतान हों।

26. [ नीडश्वसत्सुविश्वस्तसुप्तमात्रकपक्षिणम् ।

पाकच्युतफलोपान्तभूतकञ्चुकमण्डली ॥ २६ ॥

nīḍaśvasatsuviśvastasuptamātrakapakṣiṇam |

pākacyutaphalopāntabhūtakañcukamaṇḍalī || 26 ||

They saw the fearless birds chirping upon the branches, and others sleeping confident in their nests; and they beheld the ground covered by living creatures, feasting on the ripe fruits fallen below. ]

उन्होंने निर्भय पक्षियों को शाखाओं पर चहचहाते देखा, और अन्य पक्षियों को अपने घोंसलों में निश्चिंत होकर सोते देखा; और उन्होंने देखा कि धरती पर जीव-जंतु फैले हुए हैं, जो नीचे गिरे हुए पके फलों पर दावत उड़ा रहे हैं।

27. [ संदिग्धमूकभ्रमरं गुच्छैः पूजाक्षसूत्रकैः ।

श्यामलीकृतपर्यन्तं नीडैः पल्लवमण्डितैः ॥ २७ ॥

saṃdigdhamūkabhramaraṃ gucchaiḥ pūjākṣasūtrakaiḥ |
śyāmalīkṛtaparyantaṃ nīḍaiḥ pallavamaṇḍitaiḥ || 27 ||

They saw the long lines of black-bees, lying mute on the ground like strings of beads, and blackening it with their sable bodies.

उन्होंने काली-मधुमक्खियों की लंबी कतारें देखीं, जो मोतियों की माला की तरह ज़मीन पर मूक पड़ी थीं, और अपने काले शरीर से उसे काला कर रही थीं।

28. [ सुगन्धिताशेषवनं पुष्पमेघीकृताम्बरम् ।

धूलीकदम्बशबलफलौघवलितं तले ॥ २८ ॥

sugandhitāśeṣavanaṃ puṣpameghīkṛtāmbaram |

dhūlīkadambaśabalaphalaughavalitaṃ tale || 28 ||

The forest was redolent with fragrance, and the sky was overhung by a cloud of flowers; the dust of Kadamba blossoms tinged the ground with ambergrease, and the Kadamba fruits covered the face of the land. ]

वन सुगन्ध से महक रहा था, आकाश पुष्पों के बादलों से घिरा हुआ था; कदम्ब के पुष्पों की धूल से भूमि अम्बर की भाँति रंगी हुई थी, और कदम्ब के फल भूमि को ढँक रहे थे।

29. [ बहुनात्र किमुक्तेन न किंचिदपि विद्यते ।

पत्रं यत्र तरौ यत्र नोष्यते वा न युज्यते ॥ २९ ॥

bahunātra kimuktena na kiṃcidapi vidyate |patraṃ yatra tarau yatra noṣyate vā na yujyate || 29 ||

What need is there of saying more, than that there was no part of the tree, which was not useful to living beings. ]

इससे अधिक कहने की क्या आवश्यकता है कि वृक्ष का कोई भी भाग ऐसा नहीं था, जो जीवों के लिए उपयोगी न हो।

30. [ पत्रे पत्रे मृगाः सुप्ता विश्रान्ताश्च पदे पदे ।

कच्छे कच्छे खगा लीनास्तस्य भूरुहभूपतेः ॥ ३० ॥

patre patre mṛgāḥ suptā viśrāntāśca pade pade |kacche kacche khagā līnāstasya bhūruhabhūpateḥ || 30 ||

Here the deer were sleeping on the fallen leaves and there were others resting on the barren ground;the birds sat on the banks and beaches of the rivulets all about that lofty tree. ]

यहाँ हिरण गिरे हुए पत्तों पर सो रहे थे और कुछ अन्य बंजर भूमि पर आराम कर रहे थे; पक्षी उस ऊँचे वृक्ष के चारों ओर नदियों के किनारों और तटों पर बैठे थे।

31. [ एवंगुणविशिष्टं तं समालोकयतो मम ।

महोत्सवेन सदृशी सा बभूव तमस्विनी ॥ ३१ ॥

evaṃguṇaviśiṣṭaṃ taṃ samālokayato mama |mahotsavena sadṛśī sā babhūva tamasvinī || 31 ||

As they were viewing in this manner the beauties of the forest, the night passed away as soon as a night of festivity. ]

इस प्रकार वन की सुन्दरता को देखते-देखते वह रात्रि उत्सव की रात्रि के समान बीत गई।

32. [ ततः कथाभी रम्याभिः स तस्य तनयो मया ।

विज्ञानालोकरम्याभिर्नीतो बोधं परं पुनः ॥ ३२ ॥

tataḥ kathābhī ramyābhiḥ sa tasya tanayo mayā |vijñānālokaramyābhirnīto bodhaṃ paraṃ punaḥ || 32 ||

The son of the hermit kept conversing with me on many subjects, and derived many useful instructions from my teaching. ]

साधु का पुत्र मुझसे अनेक विषयों पर बातचीत करता रहा और मेरी शिक्षा से अनेक उपयोगी शिक्षाएँ प्राप्त करता रहा।

33. [ आवयोस्तत्र चित्राभिः कथाभिरितरेतरम् ।

शर्वरी सा व्यतीयाय मुहूर्त इव कान्तयोः ॥ ३३ ॥

āvayostatra citrābhiḥ kathābhiritaretaram |śarvarī sā vyatīyāya muhūrta iva kāntayoḥ || 33 ||

As we had been conversing with one another on different subjects, the night passed away as soon as that of a conjugal pair. ]

चूँकि हम लोग आपस में भिन्न-भिन्न विषयों पर बातचीत कर रहे थे, इसलिए वह रात्रि वैवाहिक जोड़े की रात्रि के समान ही बीत गई।

34. [ प्रातः प्रतनुतां याते पुष्पर्द्धिघनजालके ।

स्वर्गाङ्गनाङ्गभोगाभे तारकानिकरे शनैः ॥ ३४ ॥

prātaḥ pratanutāṃ yāte puṣparddhighanajālake |

svargāṅganāṅgabhogābhe tārakānikare śanaiḥ || 34 ||

Now it began to dawn, and the blushing flowers commenced to ope their petals; while the host of the stars on high, disappeared from their arena of the sky. ]

अब भोर होने लगी, और लाल फूलों ने अपनी पंखुड़ियाँ खोलनी शुरू कर दीं; जबकि ऊपर के तारों का समूह आकाश के अपने क्षेत्र से गायब हो गया।

35. [ आकदम्बनभोभागमुपयातं सुतान्वितम् ।

अहं विसृज्य दाशूरं ततोऽमरनदीं गतः ॥ ३५ ॥

ākadambanabhobhāgamupayātaṃ sutānvitam |ahaṃ visṛjya dāśūraṃ tato'maranadīṃ gataḥ || 35 ||

I then took my departure, and was followed by the hermit and his son to some distance from their Kadamba tree, where I left them for my aerial course to the heavenly stream. ]

तब मैं चला गया, और साधु तथा उसका पुत्र मेरे पीछे-पीछे उनके कदम्ब वृक्ष से कुछ दूर तक आये, जहाँ मैंने उन्हें छोड़ दिया और स्वर्गिक नदी की ओर हवाई मार्ग से चला गया।

36. [ तत्राभिमतमासाद्य स्थानमेत्य नभस्तलम् ।

प्रविश्य खं मुनीनां च मध्यं स्वस्थ इव स्थितः ॥ ३६ ॥

tatrābhimatamāsādya sthānametya nabhastalam |praviśya khaṃ munīnāṃ ca madhyaṃ svastha iva sthitaḥ || 36 ||

There having performed my holy ablution, I came down under the vault of heaven, and then entered the celestial region of the sages, which is situated in the midway sky. ]

वहाँ स्नान करके मैं स्वर्ग के नीचे उतरा और फिर मध्य आकाश में स्थित ऋषियों के दिव्य लोक में प्रवेश किया।

37. [ दाशूराख्यायिकैषा ते कथिता रघुनन्दन ।

जगतः प्रतिबिम्बाभा सत्याकाराप्यसन्मयी ॥ ३७ ॥

dāśūrākhyāyikaiṣā te kathitā raghunandana |jagataḥ pratibimbābhā satyākārāpyasanmayī || 37 ||

Now I have related to you, Rama, this story of Dasura, that you may learn from his instance the unreality of the apparent world, and as it is but a shadow of the ideal one. ]

अब मैंने तुम्हें दशुरा की यह कथा सुनाई है, ताकि तुम उसके उदाहरण से प्रत्यक्ष जगत की असत्यता को समझ सको, तथा यह कि यह (दिव्य मन में) आदर्श जगत की छाया मात्र है।

38. [ दाशूराख्यायिकेवेयमित्येतत्कथितं मया ।

तुभ्यं राघव बोधाय जगद्रूपनिरूपणे ॥ ३८ ॥

dāśūrākhyāyikeveyamityetatkathitaṃ mayā |tubhyaṃ rāghava bodhāya jagadrūpanirūpaṇe || 38 ||

It was for this reason, that I have given you the narrations of Dasura, by way of explanation of the phenomenal world, as a shadow of the noumenal. ]

इसी कारण से मैंने तुम्हें दशुरा की कथाएँ दी हैं, जो कि दिव्य जगत की व्याख्या के रूप में, दिव्य जगत की छाया के रूप में हैं।

39. [ तस्मादवास्तवीं त्यक्त्वा वास्तवीमपि रञ्जनाम् । दाशूरसिद्धान्तदृशा सदोदारो भवात्मवान् ॥ ३९ ॥

tasmādavāstavīṃ tyaktvā vāstavīmapi rañjanām |dāśūrasiddhāntadṛśā sadodāro bhavātmavān || 39 ||

Now therefore know the Spirit like Dasura, and imitate his example in the magnanimity of your soul. Forsake the unreal, and pursue the reality for your permanent delight.]

अब दशुरा की तरह आत्मा को जानो, और अपनी आत्मा की उदारता में उसका अनुकरण करो। असत्य को त्याग दो, और अपने स्थायी आनंद के लिए सत्य का अनुसरण करो।

40. [ तस्माद्विकल्पं मलमात्मनस्त्वं निर्धूय पश्यामलमात्मतत्त्वम् ।आसादयिष्यस्यचिरात्पदं तद्भविष्यसीज्यो भुवनेषु येन ॥ ४० 

tasmādvikalpaṃ malamātmanastvaṃ nirdhūya paśyāmalamātmatattvam |

āsādayiṣyasyacirātpadaṃ tadbhaviṣyasījyo bhuvaneṣu yena || 40 ||

Rub out the dirt of desire from your mind, and see the image of truth in it as in a mirror; you will thus attain to the highest state of knowledge, and be honoured in all worlds as a perfect being. ]

अपने मन से कामना रूपी मैल को मिटा डालो और उसमें दर्पण की तरह सत्य की छवि देखो; इस प्रकार तुम ज्ञान की सर्वोच्च अवस्था को प्राप्त करोगे और सभी लोकों में पूर्ण पुरुष के रूप में सम्मानित होगे।
