Chapter 6.6 (सूत्र १–१४)
६,६.१ — सन्निपाते वैगुण्यात् प्रकृतिवत् तुल्यकल्पा यजेरन्
English: In conjunctions, when there is difference in qualities, equal kalpas perform the sacrifice as in nature.
६,६.२ — वचनाद् वाशिरोवत्स्यात्
English: According to the statement, it shall be subject to control.
६,६.३ — न वानारभ्यवादत्वात्
English: Nor is it to be considered as commencing from the start.
६,६.४ — स्याद् वा यज्ञार्थत्वाद् औदुम्बरीवत्
English: Because of its sacrificial purpose, it is considered like a special type (audumbari).
६,६.५ — न तत्प्रधानत्वात्
English: Not being principal/main.
६,६.६ — औदुम्बर्याः परार्थत्वात् कपालवत्
English: Audumbari, because of its secondary purpose, is like the skull.
६,६.७ — अन्येनापीति चेत्
English: If it is said by another.
६,६.८ — नैकत्वात्तस्य चानधिकाराच् छब्दस्य चाविभक्तत्वात्
English: Not due to its unity or lack of authority, nor the indivisibility of the word.
६,६.९ — सन्निपातात् तु निमित्तविघातः स्याद् बृहद्रथन्तरवद् विभक्तशिष्टत्वाद् वसिष्ठनिर्वर्त्ये
English: In conjunction, cause-obstruction arises, as in Brihadratha, due to divided and proper conduct, following Vasistha.
६,६.१० — अपि वा कृत्स्नसंयोगाद् अविघातः प्रतीयेत स्वामित्वेनाभिसंबन्धात्
English: Even in complete conjunction, there is no obstruction, due to its relation to ownership.
६,६.११ — साम्नोः कर्मवृद्ध्यैकदेशेन संयोगे गुणत्वेनाभिसंबन्धस् तस्मात् तत्र विघातः स्यात्
English: In one place, due to conjunction and quality, there is obstruction from the increase of acts.
६,६.१२ — वचनात् तु द्विसंयोगस् तस्माद् एकस्य पाणिवत्
English: According to the statement, in dual conjunction, only one is effective, like one hand.
६,६.१३ — अर्थाभावात् तु नैवं स्यात्
English: This does not occur due to absence of meaning.
६,६.१४ — अर्थानां च विभक्तत्वान् न तच्छ्रुतेन संबन्धः
English: Even if meanings are separate, they are not connected by Shruti.
Chapter 6.6 (सूत्र १५–२८)
६,६.१५ — प्राणेः प्रत्यङ्गभावाद् असंबन्धः प्रतीयेत
English: Disconnection is perceived due to the aspects of prana (vital force).
६,६.१६ — सत्राणि सर्ववर्णामाम् अविशेषात्
English: Sacrificial halls (satra) for all varnas have no distinction.
६,६.१७ — लिङ्गदर्शनाच् च
English: Due to the viewing of the sign (linga).
६,६.१८ — ब्राह्मणानां वेतरयोर् आर्त्विज्यभावात्
English: Among Brahmins, due to the attitude towards other varnas (Vetaraya).
६,६.१९ — वचनाद् इति चेत्
English: If it is said according to the statement.
६,६.२० — न स्वामित्वं हि विधीयते
English: Ownership is not applicable here.
६,६.२१ — गार्हपते वा स्याताम् अविप्रतिषेधात्
English: The householder may also act, since there is no prohibition.
६,६.२२ — न वा कल्पविरोधात्
English: Nor due to conflict with the kalpa (plan/period).
६,६.२३ — स्वामित्वाद् इतरेषाम् अहीने लिङ्गदर्शनम्
English: Due to ownership, sign viewing is not proper for others.
६,६.२४ — वासिष्ठानां वा ब्रह्मत्वनियमात्
English: According to the Brahmatva rule of Vasistha.
६,६.२५ — सर्वेषां वा प्रतिप्रसवात्
English: For all, due to retransmission/production.
६,६.२६ — विश्वामित्रस्य हौत्रनियमाद् भृगुशुनकवसिष्ठानाम् अनधिकारः
English: According to Vishvamitra’s rules for Hauthra, Bhrigu, Shunak, Vasistha have no right.
६,६.२७ — विहारस्य प्रभुत्वाद् अनग्नीनाम् अपि स्यात्
English: Due to the dominance of vihara, it may apply even to those without fire.
६,६.२८ — सारस्वते च दर्शनात्
English: And from the observation of Saraswati (knowledge).
Chapter 6.6 (सूत्र २९–३९)
६,६.२९ — प्रायश्चित्तविधानाच् च
English: Due to the rules of prāyaścitta (atonement/ritual correction).
६,६.३० — साग्नीनां वेष्टिपूर्वत्वात्
English: Due to the precedence of arrangement in fire rituals.
६,६.३१ — स्वार्थेन च प्रयुक्तत्वात्
English: Because it is applied for one’s own purpose.
६,६.३२ — सन्निवापं च दर्शयति
English: It indicates the assembled/arranged state (sannivāpa).
६,६.३३ — जुह्वादीनाम् अप्रयुक्तत्वात् संदेहे यथाकामी प्रतीयेत
English: Due to the non-use of offerings like juhva, in doubt it may be perceived as desired.
६,६.३४ — अपि वान्यानि पात्राणि साधारणानि कुर्वीरन् विप्रतिषेधाच् छास्त्रकृत्वात्
English: Other vessels may also be made common, as scripture does not prohibit them specially.
६,६.३५ — प्रायश्चित्तम् आपदि स्यात्
English: Prāyaścitta is applicable in case of error or fault.
६,६.३६ — पुरुषकल्पेन विकृतौ कर्तृनियमः स्याद् यज्ञस्य तद्गुणत्वाद् अभावाद् इतरान् प्रत्येकस्मिन्न् अधिकारः स्यात्
English: In the plan of a person (Purushakalpa), if distortion occurs, the agent’s rule applies; due to the quality and absence in the yajna, every other person has corresponding rights.
६,६.३७ — लिङ्गाच् चेज्याविशेषवत्
English: According to the sign (linga) and in the manner of distinction.
६,६.३८ — न वा संयोगपृथक्त्वाद् गुणस्येज्याप्रधानत्वाद् असंयुक्ता हि चोदना
English: Due to the separation of combination and the primacy of quality, this instruction is independent.
६,६.३९ — इज्यायां तद्गुणत्वाद् विशेषेण नियमयेत
English: In offerings (Ijya), due to its quality, it should be specially regulated.
