*ओ३म् वय॑: सुप॒र्णा उप॑ सेदु॒रिन्द्रं॑ प्रि॒यमे॑धा॒ ऋष॑यो॒ नाध॑मानाः ।*

*अप॑ ध्वा॒न्तमू॑र्णु॒हि पू॒र्धि चक्षु॑र्मुमु॒ग्ध्य१॒॑स्मान्नि॒धये॑व ब॒द्धान् ॥*

ऋग्वेद 10/73/11

सामवेद 319

दृष्टि दे दो हे आत्मन् !!

दर्शन शक्ति आ जाए 

तम का उठा दो पर्दा 

सूक्ष्म दृष्टि पा जाये  

बन्धन हमारे तुम काटो 

सुप्रकाश अपना हमें बाँटो 

तव इन्द्र शरण पा जाएँ 

दृष्टि दे दो हे आत्मन् !!

दर्शन शक्ति आ जाए 

पाँच इन्द्रियाँ  ज्ञान की

सब के शरीर में रहती हैं 

पंछियों के जैसे इत उत 

बस उड़ती फिरती रहती हैं 

पाँच विषय के रसों में उलझी

तृष्णा हमारी पल पल और बढ़ाए

दृष्टि दे दो हे आत्मन् !!

दर्शन शक्ति आ जाए 

कान जीभ आँखें जब खोलें 

जगत् विविध दिख जाए 

ऐसा जादू करे हम पे 

इन्द्रियाँ हमें भरमायें

तृप्त कर सके ना कभी  हमको

मार्ग में देखो खड़ी हैं लाख तृष्णायें

दृष्टि दे दो हे आत्मन् !!

दर्शन शक्ति आ जाए 

पाँच इन्द्रियाँ बाह्य प्रकाश से 

तृप्त ना कभी कर पाए 

इन्द्रिय छठी इस मन के द्वारा 

प्रत्याहार जगायें

उड़ना इन्द्रियों का थम जाए

परिमितता अन्धकार की मिटती जाए 

दृष्टि दे दो हे आत्मन् !!

दर्शन शक्ति आ जाए 

देश कालाव्यवहित दर्शन की 

शक्ति हममें जगा दे 

हे आत्मदेव हे इन्द्र ! 

प्रकाश का मार्ग सुझा दो 

तुझ बिन और कहाँ जाएँ हम 

छाए हुए यहाँ विषय-विषयों के साये 

दृष्टि दे दो हे आत्मन् !!

कहां जाएं

 हमारे शरीर में पांच इन्द्रियां रहती है। यह पक्षियों की तरह बाहर उड़ती फिरती हैं। यह ऋषि इन्द्रियां हैं,ज्ञान लाने वाली इन्द्रियां हैं। इन्हें अपने रूप-रस आदि विषयों से संगमन करना बड़ा प्रिय है। इनका उड़ना (पतन करना) बड़ा सुन्दर है। बाहर से बड़े सुन्दर- सुन्दर रूपों को, रसों को गन्धों को यह कैसी विलक्षणता से ले आती हैं। इनमें क्या ही अद्भुत गुण है। हां खोलो तो सब विविध जगत दिखने लगता है, आंख बन्द करने पर कुछ नहीं। आंख में क्या विलक्षण शक्ति है ! इसी तरह कान को देखो, जीभ को देखो, इनमें क्या विचित्र जादू है कि वह हमारे लिए बड़ी ही आनन्ददायक अनुभूतियों को पैदा करती हैं।

‌पर एक समय आता है जब यह इतनी अद्भुत इन्द्रियां हमारी ज्ञान पिपासा को तृप्त नहीं कर सकतीं। यह बाहर से जो प्रकाश लाती हैं वह सब तुच्छ लगने लगता है। यह तब होता है जब की छठी इन्द्रिय (मन) द्वारा अन्दर के प्रकाश की तरफ हमारा ध्यान जाता है, प्रत्याहार शुरू होता है और इन्द्रियों का उड़ना बन्द हो जाता है। सब इन्द्रियां मन के प्रकाश के मुकाबले मैं बैठकर अपने अंधकार को और अपनी परिमितता के बन्धन को अनुभव करती हैं। ओह! इन्द्रियां कितना थोड़ा ज्ञान दे सकती है और वह ज्ञान भी कितना बंधा हुआ है। अन्दर-बाहर की थोड़ी सी बाधा से उनका ध्यान ग्रहण रुक जाता है। आंख अति दूर अतिसमीप नहीं देख सकती अतिसूक्ष्म को नहीं दे सकती ओट में पार नहीं देख सकती। यह अंधेरा और बन्धन तब अनुभव होता है जबकि मनुष्य के अन्दर के महान सब कुछ जान सकने वाले प्रकाश का पता लगता है। यह इन्द्र का, आत्मा का, प्रकाश है। इस प्रकाश पिपासा से व्याकुल होकर इन्द्रियां आत्मा से उस प्रकाश को पाने के लिए गिड़गिड़ाने लगती हैं, प्रार्थना करने लगती है कि "हमारे अंधकार का पर्दा उठा दो हमारी आंखें प्रकाश से भर दो हम अन्धे हैं, हमें आंखें दे दो हम अपने अपने जरा से क्षेत्र में बंधी पड़ी है हमें देशकालाव्यवहित दर्शन की शक्ति दे दो, हमारे बन्धन काट दो हम जिस देश और जिस काल में जिस वस्तु को देखना चाहे तुम्हारे इस प्रकाश में ( प्रज्ञा लोक में) देख सके"

darshan-shakti aa jae 

tam ka uthaa do pardaa 

sookshma drishti pa jaayen  

bandhan hamaare tum kaato 

suprakaash apana hamen baanto 

tav indra sharan pa jaen 

drishti de do he aatman !!

darshan shakti aa jae 

paanch indriyaan  gyaan kee

sab ke shareer mein rahatee hain 

panchhiyon ke jaise it ut 

bas udatee phiratee rahatee hain 

paanch vishaya ke rason mein ulajhee

trishna hamaaree pal pal aur badhae

drishti de do he aatman !!

darshan shakti aa jae 

kaan jeebh aankhen jab kholen 

jagat vividh dikh jae 

aisa jaadoo kare ham pe 

indriyaan hamen bharamaayen

tript kar sake na kabhee  hamako

maarg mein dekho khadee hain laakh trishnaayen

drishti de do he aatman !!

darshan shakti aa jae 

paanch indriyaan baahya prakaash se 

tript na kabhee kar pae 

indriya chhathee is man ke dvaara 

pratyaahaar jagaayen

udana indriyon ka tham jae

parimitata andhakaar kee mitatee jae 

drishti de do he aatman !!

darshan shakti aa jae 

desh kaalaavyavahit darshan kee 

shakti hamamein jaga de 

he aatmadeva he indra ! 

prakaash ka maarg sujha do 

tujh bin aur kahaan jaen ham 

chhae hue yahaan vishay-vishayon ke saaye 

drishti de do he aatman !!

darshan shakti aa jae 

tam ka utha do parda 

sookshma drishti pa jaaye

Lift the veil of darkness

May I get a subtle vision

Cut off our bonds

Distribute your bright light to us

May Indra take refuge in you

Give me the vision, O soul!!

 Let the power of Darshan come

The five senses of knowledge

Residing in everyone's body

Like birds

They keep flying here and there

Entangled in the pleasures of five senses

Let our thirst increase every moment

Give me the vision, O Atman!!

Let the power of Darshan come

When we open our ears, tongue and eyes

We see a diverse world

The senses cast such a spell on us

They delude us

They can never satisfy us

Look, there are lakhs of desires standing in the way

Give me the vision, O Atman!!

Let the power of Darshan come

The five senses can never be satisfied with external light

Awaken the sixth sense

Pratyahara

Through this mind, awaken the flying of the senses

Let the limitation of darkness disappear

Give me the vision, O Atman!!

Let the power of Darshan come

Awaken the power of Darshan

Avoid the power of Darshan

O Atman, O Indra!  Suggest the path of light

Where else do we go without you

Shadows of various subjects are looming here

Give me vision, O soul!!

Where should we go

There are five senses in our body. They fly around like birds. These are the senses that bring knowledge. They love to unite with objects like form, taste, etc. Their flying (falling) is very beautiful. With what excellence they bring beautiful forms, tastes, and smells from outside. What a wonderful quality they have. Yes, if you open your eyes, the whole world becomes visible, if you close your eyes, nothing. What a wonderful power the eyes have! Similarly, look at the ears, look at the tongue, what strange magic is there in them that they create very pleasurable experiences for us. But a time comes when these wonderful senses cannot satisfy our thirst for knowledge. The light they bring from outside starts appearing trivial. This happens when our attention goes towards the inner light through the sixth sense (mind), pratyahara starts and the flying of the senses stops.  All the senses sit in comparison to the light of the mind and experience their darkness and the bondage of their finiteness. Oh! How little knowledge the senses can give and how much that knowledge is bound. Their attention stops due to a little obstacle from inside or outside. The eyes cannot see very far or very near, cannot see the very subtle, cannot see through the curtains. This darkness and bondage is experienced when the great all-knowing light within man is discovered. This is the light of the senses, of the soul. Distressed by the thirst for this light, the senses start pleading with the soul to get that light, they start praying that "lift the veil of our darkness, fill our eyes with light, we are blind, give us eyes, we are bound in our own little sphere, give us the power of seeing beyond space and time, break our bondage so that we can see whatever we want to see in this light of yours (in the world of wisdom) in whatever space and time we want to see."
