ग्वाला सेनापति

प्रत्येक मनुष्य सैनिक है। देश की, जाति की, धर्म की अपने घर की आन के लिए हथियार उठाना प्रत्येक आत्मवान् पुरुष का कर्तव्य है। पृथ्वी गौ है। वह अपने पुत्रों के मुख में धन-धान्य उड़ेल रही है। यदि मानव- जाति शान्ति से परस्पर प्रेम तथा सहयोग से निर्वाह करना चाहे, तो उसकी आवश्यकताओं के लिए इस कामधेनु का दूध बहुत पर्याप्त है। सहयोग का फल यहां पारिवारिक आनन्द होगा वहां प्रत्येक देश सब प्रकार की सम्पत्ति से समृद्ध भी अधिक होगा। आफत है तो यह की स्वयं मनुष्य एक दूसरे के शत्रु हो रहे हैं। एक जाति दूसरी जाति पर, एक देश दूसरे देश पर अनुचित अधिकार जमाना चाहता है। इसी से कलह पैदा होता है। पृथ्वी माता का सुख इसमें है कि उसके सम्पूर्ण पुत्र व पुत्रियां शान्तिपूर्वक जीवन का आनन्द लें। जो इस शान्ति को भंग करता है, वह पृथ्वी माता का द्रोही है। जिन्हें दास बनाया जाता है उनका अकल्याण तो होता ही है। परन्तु जो दूसरों को दास बनाते हैं, वह भी कोई अपना आध्यात्मिक हित नहीं कर रहे होते। अत्याचारी, डाकू ही तो होता है। कोई व्यक्ति डाकू हुआ तो वह वैयक्तिक रूप में दंडनीय है। इसी प्रकार कोई जाति की जाति डाकू बन जाए, तो वह जाति रूप में दंड देने के लायक है। मानव जाति का भला इसी में है कि सभी राष्ट्र स्वतन्त्र तथा समृद्ध हों।

यह हुई आर्थिक गौ । संस्कृति आध्यात्मिक गौ है। परम्परागत विचार, भाषा, विद्या, विज्ञान तथा धर्म प्रत्येक देश की मानसिक बपौती है। इन्हें नष्ट होने देना अपनी मानसिक तथा आध्यात्मिक हत्या करना है। 

राजनीतिक स्वतन्त्रता तथा आध्यात्मिक उन्नति साथ-साथ चलती है। यह कहना कठिन है कि इनमें से कौन आधार है और कौन आधेय। आर्य पुरुष का कर्तव्य है कि दोनों की रक्षा में जी- जान से यत्न करे। जो इन्द्र अर्थात् जीता जागता आत्मा है,अपने जन्म सिद्ध अधिकारों को लुप्त ना होने देगा । उनकी सुरक्षा के लिए उसके हृदय से आवाज उठनी स्वाभाविक है।

सात्विक देश- भक्ति दूसरों से द्रोह नहीं सिखाती। उसके लिए मातृभूमि पृथ्वी माता ही की पुत्री है । माता का सौभाग्य इसी में है कि उसकी सभी पुत्रियां सुखी हों स्वाधीन हों। ऐसी देशभक्ति प्रभु भक्ति की पर्याय है। प्रभु का प्रेम यही है कि उसके पुत्रों से प्रेम किया जाए। इस देशभक्ति का नशा "सोम" है। मानव मात्र के लिए अमृत है। सच्चा संजीवन रस है। आर्यवीर जब इस नशे में आकर विरोधियों के साथ जूझ जाता है,तो वह केवल अपने ही देश की नहीं किन्तु सभी देशों की संस्कृत भाषा धर्म, विज्ञान, कला, रीति-रिवाज स्त्रियों तथा वृद्धों की मान- मर्यादा आदि की रक्षा करता है। उसने आत्मा की आवाज को "सोम" की--सात्विक देशभक्ति की--सुरीली लयों में सुना है और इस धर्म- संग्राम में अपने जीवन की आहुति देकर वह उसे आन्तरिक ध्वनि को सफल कर रहा है।

इस सात्विक राष्ट्रभक्ति के सोम- रस का संचार किसी आत्मदर्शी सेना- नायक के द्वारा ही हो सकता है जिसने पृथ्वी माता को अपनी माता समझा हो, जो देश-विदेश की संस्कृतियों को अपने ऋषियों की पुण्य देन समझता हो । सैनिक तब उसके मित्र होंगे सखा होंगे। पवित्र सोमरस के सूत्र में पिरोये हुए,समान आभा के, चमक दमक के मोती होंगे। जहां नायक अपनी जान हथेली पर रख सैनिकों के आगे बढ़ा, वहां सम्पूर्ण सेवा का हृदय उसके कदम-कदम के साथ उछलता है। वे नाच- नाच कर रण- क्षेत्र की ओर पग बढ़ाते हैं। उनका आवेश क्षणिक नहीं। वे काम- वश, क्रोध-वश, मोह-वश,युद्ध स्थल की ओर नहीं दौड़ पड़े हैं। युद्ध -यात्रा का उनका संकल्प सात्विक है, स्थिर है। उनका युद्ध यज्ञ स्वरूप है। उनका जीवन पृथ्वी माता के चरणों में प्रस्तुत है संस्कृति के ऋषियों की परंपरागत बपौती के समर्पण है। उनका सेना- नायक गौ माता की रक्षा करने निकला है-- गो नाम पृथ्वी की और मातृभाषा द्वारा उपलक्षित संस्कृति की। इसी से वह मूर्त सोम-- देश तथा जाति के लिए अमृत हो गया है।

Every man is a soldier. It is the duty of every self-respecting man to take up arms for the honour of his country, caste, religion and his home. The earth is a cow. She is pouring wealth and grains into the mouths of her sons. If mankind wants to live peacefully with mutual love and cooperation, then the milk of this Kamadhenu is quite sufficient for its needs. The result of cooperation will be family happiness here and there every country will also become more prosperous with all kinds of wealth. The problem is that humans themselves are becoming enemies of each other. One caste wants to establish unfair authority over another caste, one country over another country. This is what creates conflict. The happiness of Mother Earth lies in the fact that all her sons and daughters enjoy life peacefully. Whoever disturbs this peace is a traitor to Mother Earth. Those who are made slaves are surely harmed. But those who make others slaves are also not doing any spiritual good for themselves. A tyrant is a robber.  If a person becomes a dacoit, he is punishable as an individual. Similarly, if a member of a community becomes a dacoit, he deserves to be punished as a community. The welfare of mankind lies in the fact that all nations are independent and prosperous.

This is the economic cow. Culture is the spiritual cow. Traditional thoughts, language, knowledge, science and religion are the mental inheritance of every nation. To let them perish is to commit a mental and spiritual murder.

Political independence and spiritual progress go hand in hand. It is difficult to say which of these is the foundation and which is the dependent. It is the duty of the Aryan man to make every possible effort to protect both. He who is Indra, that is, a living soul, will not let his birthrights perish. It is natural for his heart to raise a voice for their protection.

Satvik patriotism does not teach treachery to others. For him, the motherland is the daughter of Mother Earth. It is the mother's good fortune that all her daughters are happy and independent. Such patriotism is synonymous with devotion to God.

The love of God is to love his sons. The intoxication of this patriotism is "Som". It is Amrit for all human beings. It is the true life-giving juice. When the Aryaveer, under this intoxication, fights with his opponents, he protects not only his own country but also the Sanskrit language, religion, science, art, customs, dignity of women and elders, etc. of all countries. He has heard the voice of the soul in the melodious tunes of "Som" - of Satvik patriotism - and by sacrificing his life in this religious war, he is making that inner voice successful.

The Som-rasa of this Satvik patriotism can be transmitted only by a self-realized army leader who considers Mother Earth as his mother, who considers the cultures of the country and abroad as the holy gifts of his sages. The soldiers will then be his friends, companions. They will be pearls of similar luster and shine, strung together in the thread of sacred Som-rasa.  Where the leader puts his life in his hands and marches ahead of his soldiers, the heart of complete service leaps with his every step. He moves towards the battlefield dancing. His passion is not momentary. He has not rushed towards the battlefield under the influence of lust, anger or attachment. His resolve for the war journey is pure and stable. His war is a form of sacrifice. His life is presented at the feet of Mother Earth, it is the dedication of the traditional inheritance of the sages of culture. His army leader has set out to protect Mother Cow – the name of the earth is cow and the culture denoted by the mother tongue. Because of this, he has become the embodiment of Som – Amrit for the country and the community.
