*दी॒र्घं न॒ आयुः॑ प्रति॒बुध्य॑माना व॒यं तुभ्यं॑ बलि॒हृतः॑ स्याम ॥*

अथर्ववेद 12/1/62

हे भूमि माता !! 

हम पुत्र हैं तेरे 

हे भूमि माता !! 

हम पुत्र हैं तेरे 

गोद में हमको बिठाना 

बिठाना 

इस पार्थिव देह में 

है तेरे रजकरण 

मातृसुख देना दिलाना

दिलाना

हे भूमि माता !! 

हम पुत्र हैं तेरे 

उपयोगी भोग्य पदार्थ तू देती 

आश्रय स्थान भी तेरा 

पुष्टि पदार्थ और दुग्धामृत का 

पान कराती घनेरा 

अन्न, फल, जल, औषधि,

धन, विद्या, सुख रक्षा 

कर्तव्य तेरा सुहाना

हे भूमि माता !! 

हम पुत्र हैं तेरे 

गोद में हमको बिठाना

भोग्य पदार्थों की पुष्टि को लेकर 

देह को उन्नत कराते 

दीर्घायु को  भोगते भोगते 

मन-आत्मा शुद्ध बनाते  

प्रतिबुध्यमान आत्म जागृति से 

कर्म उत्तम है कमाना

भूले से भी ना भुलाएँ  

जागृत हों कर्तव्यों को निभाकर

हितकर राष्ट्र है बनाना

हे भूमिमात:!

हे भूमिमात:! हम तेरे पुत्र है, तुझ से उत्पन्न हुए है। यह पार्थिव देह हमें तेरे रज:कणों से मिली है। हे मात:! हमें अपनी गोद में बिठाओ। तेरी आनन्दमयी गोद में बैठकर हम सम्पूर्ण मातृसुख को प्राप्त करें, तेरे दुग्धामृत का पान भी करें। तू हमें केवल सुखमय आश्रय स्थानों को ही नहीं प्रदान करती, अपितु अपने उन संस्थानों में तू हमें हमारे उपयोगी भोग्य पदार्थों को भी देती है। तेरी ऐसी गोद में हमारा आश्रय पाना, हमारे लिए रोग रहित, निरन्तर, निर्बाध पुष्टि (उन्नति) का देने वाला हो। हे विस्तृत मातृभूमे! तेरे आश्रम में रहते हुए हमें जो तेरे अन्य फल औषध जलवायु धन, पशु, मान, रक्षा, विद्या सुख आदि मिलते हैं वह हमें ऐसे शुभ और उचित रूप में मिलते रहें कि यह हमारे रोगों भयों और दु:खों को हटाकर हमारी स्वास्थ्यकर पुष्टि को ही करते जाएं, हमारी शारीरिक मानसिक और आत्मिक उन्नति साधते जाएं। यह तेरा सब भोग्य पदार्थ रूपी पुष्टि कारक दूध हे मात:! तेरे हम बच्चों के लिए ही है--हम बच्चों की रोग- भय रहित पुष्टि के लिए ही है। हमारी शारीरिक उन्नति ऐसी अक्षुण्ण हो कि हम पूर्ण दीर्घायु को भोगें। हमारी मानसिक व आत्मिक उन्नति भी ऐसी अक्षुण्ण हो कि हम क्रमशः 'प्रतिबुध्यमान'होते जाएं, उत्तर उत्तर अधिक ज्ञान और बोध से (आत्मिक जागृति से) युक्त होते जाएं। एवं, हम अबोध बालकों का जो जो ज्ञान बढ़ेगा, हम सब प्रकार के ज्ञानों में उत्पन्न होंगे, त्यों-त्यों, हे मात:! हम तेरे अपने पर किए गए अपापरूप कार्यों को भी--तेरे मातृत्व को भी--अधिक अनुभव करने लगेंगे तथा तेरे प्रति अपने कर्तव्यों के लिए भी जागृत हो जाएंगे, अतः तब हम राष्ट्र कर के इस तुच्छ धन की बलि, किसी भय से नहीं किन्तु 'प्रतिबुध्यमान'होते हुए, जानते हुए, समझते हुए--प्रेम से तुम्हारे प्रति दिया करेंगे। केवल यह तुच्छ, साधारण, नित्य प्रति की भली ही नहीं, किन्तु हे मात:! हमने तेरे प्रति कर्तव्य का बोध ऐसा जागृत हो जाएगी हम तेरे लिए सब कुछ बलिदान करने को श्रद्धा उद्यत रहें। तुझसे मिला हुआ यह शरीर, यह आयु, यह प्राण, यह पुष्टि, यह धन, यह सब कुछ और किस काम के लिए है? यदि यह तेरी वस्तुएं आवश्यकता पड़ने पर तेरे लिए समर्पित ना हो सकें--तेरे दूध को चुकाने का समय आने पर भी यदि हम इन्हें भेंट चढ़ाने से हिचकें--तो ऐसे धर्म ज्ञान और जीवन को धिक्कार है। इन बातों में वस्तुओं का भूमि पर रहना व्यर्थ है! नहीं, हम सर्वस्व तुझ पर बलि चढ़ा देने को सदा उदित रहेंगे।

*Swadhyay-Message of Pujya Shri Lalit Sahni Ji related to the presented Bhajan :-- 👇👇*

 O Mother of the Earth!

 O Mother of the Earth!  We are your children, born of you.  This earthly body we have received from your dust particles.  Hey, Mother:!  Put us in your lap.  Sitting in your blissful lap, may we attain complete motherly happiness and drink your milk nectar.  You not only provide us with pleasant shelters, but in those institutions of yours you also give us our useful enjoyments.  May our refuge in such a lap of Yours be a source of disease-free, constant, uninterrupted confirmation (advancement) for us.  O vast motherland!  May the other fruits, medicines, climate, wealth, animals, honor, protection, knowledge, happiness, etc. that we get while living in your ashram continue to be given to us in such auspicious and proper form that it removes our diseases, fears and sufferings  Keep doing the same, our physical, mental and spiritual advancement.  This is your all-enjoyable nourishing milk, O Mother!  Thy is for us children only--we children are only for disease- fearless affirmation.  May our physical advancement be so intact that we enjoy full longevity.  Our mental and spiritual advancement should also be so intact that we gradually become 'awakened', gradually becoming endowed with more knowledge and understanding (spiritual awakening).  And, as the knowledge of us ignorant children increases, we will arise in all kinds of knowledge, so, O Mother!  We will also begin to feel more of your sinless acts upon ourselves--your motherhood--and awaken to our duties to you, so then we will sacrifice this paltry wealth of nation taxes, with no fear  But 'awakening', knowing, understanding--will give to you with love.  Not only is this insignificant, ordinary, everyday good, but O Mother!  We have awakened such a sense of duty to you that we are ready to sacrifice everything for you.  What else is this body, this life, this life, this confirmation, this wealth, everything you have got for? 

If these Thy things cannot be devoted to Thee when need arises--even if we hesitate to offer them when the time comes to pay for Thy milk--then woe to such religious knowledge and life.  It is pointless for things to stay on the ground in these things!  No, we will always be ready to sacrifice everything to you.
